RL with Hibiki and Kanade

Aqua's discreetly glider emerged in Kanon Town, and she dispelled her armor and adjusted her grip on the basket of food she'd brought from Olympus.

"I hope I'm not too far away," she murmured, checking the food. "I don't want any of this to get cold."

"It's some kind of fighting competition," Aqua explained. "One of my friends ended up as the champion, so I'm hoping that if I compete, I'll run into him again."

[wildmelody]

"Oh?" inquired Hibiki, her mouth half full. She swallowed and asked, "What kind of person is he?"

[tranquilrhythm]

Kanade opened her mouth to add another question, but realized she'd be asking the same thing anyway, shaking her head faintly with a slight smile, and returning to lunch.

"Well, Terra's a little..." She hesitated, trying to think of the best term, "intense, at times. He's dedicated and knows what he wants, but he's stubborn. He'll keep going at a problem headfirst from the same angle, even if it's not working. But he's passionate and really devoted to his friends. But I'm starting to worry that maybe he's going astray. I want to be sure that's not the case."

[wildmelody]

"One of those stubborn types huh? I guess there's one in every circle of friends." And we all know who that is here, huh Hibiki? She makes due and stuffs a bakalava into her mouth.

[tranquilrhythm]

"Yes, Hibiki. There certainly is." Kanade can't help but roll her eyes at her partner's comment, also making sure to grab something for dessert before Hibiki takes everything.

"Good luck to you, Aqua. Someone like that will be hard to get through to, I think, but..." She trails off, unsure how to finish, before shaking her head. "You should be okay."

"He is," Aqua had to agree. "And thank you."

[wildmelody]

"Yeah, people like that need help to stay in line." Oh Hibiki, just keep eating and nod your head.

[tranquilrhythm]

"In my personal experience," Kanade adds with a glance over at her partner, "the easiest way is to talk it out first. But sometimes, if your friend is a physical kind of person, you have to force them to listen first."

She looks over at Aqua, frowning a little. "Are you going to be okay doing that? I'm not sure you have the right build for it."

[shiningwaters]

"Well, I'm a lot stronger than I look," she admitted. "But I really don't want to fight him if I can avoid it."

[wildmelody]

Hibiki gave Aqua a glance, and smiled a little. "You could probably beat him anyhow. Considering everything."

[tranquilrhythm]

"That's true," Kanade conceded. "Better not to have to fight him, considering he's your friend. But if it comes to that, you have to trust in your own strength. To someone like that, power is all that matters."

She sighs, thinking on it some more. "Greek food from a fighting competition... it's almost like you're a gladiator."

[shiningwaters]

"It's not something that extreme," Aqua insisted. "But it is some kind of games from all over the world to determine the strongest fighter. Everyone walks out of there okay."

[wildmelody]

"Well that's good. No sense beating up each other until you can't walk." remarked Hibiki, shaking her head. "But it sounds fun!"
